As of yesterday, I’ve completed my final proofread of Human Again, the third World Spectrum novel. All that remains to be done is to format it, upload it to Smashwords, and wait for them to approve it for the premium catalog. I don’t know when exactly it will go live, but barring some unforeseen calamity, it should be available before Christmas.

This seems like a good time to offer you another teaser for the book, so without further ado, I now present you with another excerpt:

Taking a deep breath to steel herself, Leha opened the door and headed inside, leaving Alistos and the other guard behind.

And there she was.

She stood at the opposite end of the room, on the far side of a wide table made of dark wood. A small woman from a small race, she almost could have passed for a child, and she had a lean, athletic build. Her hair was the color of damp soil and cut a little above shoulder length. She had a wide, open face that made her seem much younger than her thirty-five years.

Her brown eyes bore pupils of deepest indigo, and each of her fingers and toes ended in a jagged black claw. She wore nothing on her feet, trusting on thick calluses to protect them.

The two Lehas slowly moved towards one another until only the table separated them, like two great predators sizing each other up.
