About

About the series:

The Books of the World Spectrum are a series of epic science fantasy novels by Tyler F.M. Edwards published through Smashwords. They tell the tale of humanity’s struggle to free itself from the Old Gods, and from the dark legacy of their war-torn past.

Though they are works of high fantasy, The Books of the World Spectrum draw heavy inspiration from the steampunk genre and from traditional science fiction, creating a unique world where magic and technology are two sides of the same coin.

There are currently three books in the series.

Book one, Rage of the Old Gods:

Humanity was not born free.

Long ago, humans were slaves to the Old Gods. They rebelled, overthrowing the Gods and establishing their own societies, but peace did not last. Humanity slaughters itself in petty wars.

Now, an army of war Automatons threatens to destroy the land of Eastenhold. To save her people, a young woman named Leha travels to the to the lost worlds of Tyzu and Sy’om, whose alien powers defeated the Old Gods in ancient times.

But there is worse to come. The wars of humankind only hasten the Old Gods’ return, and even Leha’s newfound powers may not be enough to save her people from the Gods’ fury, or from the hatred in their own hearts.

Book two, Children of the Gods:

Seven thousand years ago, the Old Gods’ human lieutenants were executed so that humanity could begin a new age free from the sins of the past.

Or so history records. The truth is much different.

Still reeling from the Old Gods’ return, Leha and her allies must now confront their fallen cousins in a war that will not only imperil humanity’s survival, but also its very soul.

Book three, Human Again:

Though humanity hails her as a hero, Leha is haunted by the ghosts of those who died because of her recklessness. The weight of her mistakes crushes down on her.

Things are about to get much worse. A great force is sweeping through the spectrum of worlds, blurring entire realities together, and it will send Leha face to face with the proof of her failures: a universe of worlds ruined by her gambles.

But the greatest torment will come not from the countless worlds where everything went wrong, but the one world where everything went right.

About the author:

A freelance writer by trade, Tyler Edwards has been creating worlds for as long as he can remember. He grew up in the country outside of Ottawa, Canada, and amidst the enchanting woods and fields, it was easy to imagine Elves and Demons around every bend. After that, making the jump to fiction writing seemed natural. He will not consider himself a true success until people are writing nonsensical slash fics about his characters.
